Maya Angelou once said, "How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!" Alysia Stern is one individual who truly understands the value of honoring those who have selflessly served our country and communities. For over two decades, she has been providing food and assistance to the homeless and veterans as a way of expressing her deep appreciation for their service.
Alysia was raised in a family of heroes in New York, with her father serving in the United States Army and her mother as a teacher. She is a mother of twins, with one serving as an active-duty Marine and the other pursuing a medical career. In addition to her humanitarian work, Alysia is also a licensed real estate broker and a published children's book author. She was recognized as one of Long Island's Top 50 Business Women of the Year in 2020.
In 2011, Alysia met Cristino Melendez, a retired NYC police officer and active NYC firefighter, who shared her passion for patriotism and appreciation for first responders. Together, they formed "The Heroes Agents" a brand dedicated to helping heroes achieve the lives they deserve.
In 2022, Alysia moved to South Carolina and continued her philanthropic work by volunteering at a local soup kitchen once a week to serve breakfast to those in need. She is now a licensed sales agent with BRG Realty and holds licenses in New York, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
Cristino Melendez
Bob Dylan once said, "A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom." Cristino Melendez has always been surrounded by heroes who serve their country and community with pride, and he has followed in their footsteps.
Cristino grew up in Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York, with his parents and two older sisters. He was inspired by his military family members and went on to serve as a police officer in New York City after college. During the September 11th terror attacks, Cristino worked tirelessly with his fellow first responders at Ground Zero. He served as a firefighter for the New York City Fire Department for 20 years, and in 2003, he also began a successful career as a realtor in the city.
Cristino and his wife Alysia, who is also a realtor, are known as "The Heroes Agents" for their work with first responders and military families through their Hero Rebate Program. They also run a relocation team called "Hero Relo" that matches retiring heroes in New York with realtors in other states.
Cristino recently retired from the FDNY and now focuses entirely on his real estate career. When he's not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two rescue dogs, working out, and volunteering in their local community and charities.
It's clear that Cristino has a passion for serving his community and honoring those who have served their country and community with pride.
